If you’re in Southeast Connecticut and near Mystic, you have to stop by Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream to try their one of a kind treat that’s been mastered over the course of a hundred years. Here they use rich cream from local CT dairy farms, real cane sugar, bourbon vanilla, imported Dutch cocoa, fresh roasted nuts, real maple syrup, and fresh fruit to make their flavors the best of the best.
To give their cream it’s famous rich and creamy taste and texture; they separate themselves from other ice creams you might find at the store. Store bought ice cream companies whips their cream to add volume, adding upwards of 80-90% air to their product. At Mystic Drawbridge they do the minimum and only whip to the point of 30-50% air, ensuring that what you’re licking is all flavor and less air. They also pride themselves on only mixing one batch at a time, focusing their energy on the best taste by hand making every scoop to maximize freshness and quality.
